• Bottling Spigot

General Description:

A white, food grade plastic tap that is generally fixed to the sides of fermenting vessels in order to transfer the liquid over to bottles or secondary vessels after primary fermentation.

Dimensions:

11.5cm (Total length with tap handle forward)

8.5cm (Length without thread with tap handle forward)

6cm (Width with tap handle in complete open/closed position)

4.5cm (Without tap handle)

8.5cm height

Directions for installation:

Drill a 25mm hole in the side of your fermenting vessel – the centre of the hole should preferably be around 5.5cm from the bottom of the fermenter.

This will allow just enough clearance for the tap spout to be just above the very bottom of the fermenter.

This will also allow for enough clearance on the inside of the fermenter to prevent excess sediment from being poured from the tap into your bottles or secondary vessels.

After the hole is drilled, insert the thread of the spigot into the hole.

When this is done, place the seal of the spigot over the thread and make sure there aren’t any kinks in the seal.

When the seal is firmly in place, screw the nut of the spigot onto the thread tightly in order to prevent it from leaking.

When these steps are completed, test for leaking before fermenting a batch in the fermenter.
