• Cumin Seed Whole (100g)

General Description

The seeds hail from the cumin plant which is native to the Irano-Turanian region. These seeds are usually contained within a fruit but are extracted for use. The seeds are small, elliptical or crescent shaped seeds that produce a flavour that is like a bright, earthy heat that is almost reminiscent of dried lemon peel.

Use Cases

Cumin can be used to create spiced meads or spiced liqueurs when used in relatively small quantities.

Cumin is most commonly used in different quisines, most notably in Southern Asian quisine as a spice and in Mexican style dishes as part of a chilli powder.

Traditionally it has also been used in India as a part of a decoction due to its believed medicinal purposes.
