General Description
Pale Wheat malt is a form of Malted Wheat that is most commonly used as a Base Malt along with either Pilsner or Pale malt in a one to one ratio with some variation to produce a variety of wheat based beers. Most recipes may contain around 75% or more Base Malt whilst the rest is comprised out of different specialty malts.
Characteristics
Wheat malt is mostly used to produce the fermentable sugar, body and malt flavour in beer, however when isolated it will produce a very pale, washed out and murky yellow coloured product with strong malty-wheat characteristics.
Used primarily as a base in a variety of Wheat based beers. Can be used as a specialty malt to increase the body and maltiness of a brew.
