A thin, glass stem with markings that ends in a bulge with weighted granules on bottom of it.

The Triple Scale hydrometer is primarily used to take gravity readings from the brew or mash in order to determine the Alcohol By Volume percentage for fermented batches.

This hydrometer can however also be used to take direct, lower measurements of the Alcohol By Volume percentage as well as direct BRIX measurements from the fermentables.
