Tartaric acid as sold by us is a packet of small, dried, course, white granules. Tartaric Acid is the primary acid component in grapes and helps to control the acidity of wine.

Uses:
Tartaric acid contributes to the tartness of a wine, but not to the same degree as malic or citric acid.
The total acidity of wine is usually measured by the amount of tartaric acid present.
Tartaric acid is often used as an acidulant in grape- and lime-flavored beverages, gelatin desserts, jams, jellies, and hard sour confectionery.
