This strain of Saccharomyces Pastorianus originates from the Technical University of Berlin and is a bottom fermenting yeast strain that produces fruitier and more estery lagers. High flocculation with fast sedimentation makes this a very popular yeast to be used in all types of lagers and California Common. Pitch directly in the fermentation vessel on the surface of the wort at the fermentation temperature.
