• Barley Flaked (per Kg)

General Description

Flaked Barley is a form of crushed barley that is commonly used as a specialty grain to enhance the dextrin qualities of a brew to increase the body of the beer and impart a rich, malty characteristic.

Characteristics

Flaked Barley is most commonly used to increase the body, head retention and maltiness of red ales and certain stout styles.

Additional information (If applicable)

Dextrin Malts contain more non-fermentable sugars than base malts, called dextrins – these dextrins cannot be fermented and thus it is not recommended to use dextrin malts such as this as a base.
